DETAILS
A gracious dining room in the Old Parliament House, with views across to the new one, The Ginger Room retains an air of grandeur despite its fairly modern decor and menu. A dramatic red feature wall greets you at reception, emblazoned with the restaurant’s logo, a straggly and strangely elegant ginger plant. Ginger Room, however, is neater and more refined than its emblem. Inside, it’s all dark-stained timber, damask table cloths, and glass panels painted in subdued greys, greens, and pinks. There are cosy upholstered chairs, Art Deco lamps and, adjoining the dining room, a plush lounge area.
