DETAILS
The main section of the lodge is the 4 bedroom Tudor house, which contains ensuite marble bathrooms, a formal lounge, a drawing room, library, hunt room, sitting room and a fabulous country kitchen to enjoy produce from the local area. The house has been sumptuously furnished with antiques and decorated with fine artworks a long with individual fabrics by Jim Thompson, all designed with a sense of luxury in mind.
There are two additional Valley View pavilions located behind the main home. The Grand Valley View pavilion is an oversized suite with separate bedroom, dining area and sitting room. The all marble bathroom has uninterrupted views across the wilderness, while the large verandah is open to the magnificent views down the Clyde Valley. The suite also contains a modern entertainment unit.
The Valley View pavilion located above the adjacent lake contains a dry sauna, modern art works, marble ensuite and king sized bed, as well as an entertainment unit with an extensive DVD library.
The garden and grounds offer a peaceful sanctuary with sweeping views of Bothwell and the valley beyond. The property also features an outside glass pavilion with open fire & BBQ facility, as well as a sauna with view of the lake.

FOOD & BEVERAGE
The menus at The Priory Country Lodge are seasonal affairs using vegetables grown in their own garden where possible, and fresh produce straight from the weekend market. As the lodge is located an hour from Hobart the menu is never set in advance, so be prepared for the unexpected.

ACTIVITIES
The Priory offers a range of activities to make your stay one to remember. If you’re a nature lover then Priory is the place for you with wild life watching, and guided walks through Tasmania’s highlands and lakes. Priory also offers guided fishing tours for novices and expert fly fishers alike to experience Tasmania’s famous shallow trout filled lakes. If food and wine is what you are here for then experience the cooking classes on offer at The Agrarian Kitchen - a sustainable farm-based cooking school at Lachlan, 45 minutes from Hobart in Derwent Valley, or enjoy a whisky tasting on the newly installed Nant Whisky Distillery. There is also a golf course for all those keen linksmen, which was established by the Reid family in 1882, and is the oldest course in Australia.
