Built in the 1830s and one of Australia’s oldest standing buildings, Dunbar House has recently changed ownership and is now operated by The Tea Room Group, known for the acclaimed Sydney venues The Tea Room QVB, The Tea Room Gunners’ Barracks and Sergeants’ Mess. With a reputation for transforming historic Sydney buildings into world-class event venues, this new addition to The Tea Room stable is set to offer one of Sydney’s most unique settings for corporate and private events of all styles.

FUNCTION DETAILS

Ground Floor Meeting Room- Located on the venue’s lower level, this versatile space that seats 20 for a board meeting, 30 for a classroom/theatre-style presentation, 40 for a fine dining banquet and 50 for cocktails. The room features a high-tech AV system, as well as wireless internet and conference call facilities.

Ground Floor Bar- This space is available for smaller meetings, seating 12 in a boardroom set-up or 16 for an intimate private dining experience or theatre style workshop. Complete with its own bar, custom-designed lounges and a recessed plasma screen, the Ground Floor Bar is also an excellent break-out space for morning and afternoon tea or arrival drinks before events.

Main Dining Room- Whether it’s a gala dinner for 110, a conference for 80 or a cocktail reception for 150, this open plan space can be configured to suit varied event needs. On the upper level of the building, the room adjoins an outdoor terrace that commands majestic views of Sydney Harbour. The room will feature hand-crafted crystal chandeliers from the Czech Republic, custom made furniture, Catherine Martin carpets and an antique full-marble fire place.

Upper Level Bar- This area also includes an elegantly appointed bar/lounge area, adjacent to the Main Dining Room. Sharing the same breathtaking outlook of Watson’s Bay, this space can seat 16 for a board meeting, 20 for a smaller banquet or 40 for a cocktail function. The Upper Level Bar is ideal for pre -drinks, break-out groups and tea breaks when using the Main Dining Room.

FOOD & BEVERAGE
Dunbar House offers modern canapé menus, including items such as tuna ceviche with salsa verde; warm chorizo, eggplant and haloumi tartines; substantial prawn, pea and herb risotto; and dessert canapés like praline profiteroles with raspberry cream. For seated dining events, guests might enjoy dishes such as spiced quail with pistachio couscous and yoghurt chutney for entrée and a main of confit duck leg with celeriac, asparagus and mustard fruits.
