The Observatory Building at the Royal Botanic Gardens is heritage listed offering boutique-style conference spaces consisting of three private rooms that are ideal for meetings, small conferences, workshops, intimate wedding celebrations and private dinners. While popular as a meeting venue, the Observatory Building can also accommodate a private group as small as 5, or an event expecting up to 90 for a cocktail party. All rooms have good natural light with attractive interiors, all rooms have windows and high ceilings. AV equipment is available, and Blakes Feast provide restaurant-quality catering to suit your requirements.
The Ellery Suite consists of three areas (a main work space, private bathrooms and a breakout room) perfect for lengthy planning days and workshops. We recommend groups between 5 and 20 use this room. Guests in the Baracchi Room are seated at a beautiful boardroom table, ideal for small meetings or presentations. Groups as small as 6 and large as 18 will feel comfortable and catering is served in the room at the table. The Eastern Transit Room is the largest space and can accommodate open-faced round tables, a large U-Shape, or theatre style seating. It is also nice for cocktail parties and smaller private dinners. We recommend groups with between 15 - 36 partcipants use this room and we are happy to suggest table configurations.
ROYAL BOTANICAL GARDENS:
The Royal Botanic Gardens is the ideal venue for a small-medium (5 - 36 pax) workshop, meeting, conference or planning day. The lush green surrounds of Melbourne's premier garden provides a beautiful backdrop to the Observatory Building and its meeting rooms.Corporate groups can also hire lawn areas in the Royal Botanic Gardens for outdoor workshop activities, BBQs, buffet lunches and Christmas parties.
Each year in December, Blakes Feast offer a custom-built marquee with a seating capacity of 200 for corporate christmas parties, product launches or lavish wedding receptions. Fully carpeted, with timber decking and elegant yet simple furnishings, the marquee packages start at $110 p/p for a cocktail package, or $180 p/p for a sitdown package. include all food, drinks, venue hire and staff costs.
CATERING:
Blakes Feast is the exclusive caterer for any event that takes place outdoors or in the Observatory Building and menus are specifically tailored to suit the client's requirements.
Workshops and meetings usually select a $41 p/p working lunch (catering all day), however our Buffet and BBQ menus starting at $53 (catering all day)are popular with groups wanting something different or a bit special.
